Q: Do I need a fishing license?
A: No, The Captain has a license that covers the passengers fishing on the charter.
Q: How many passengers can you take?
A: Our fishing trips are designed for up to 4 passengers. However, an Ecotrip, where fishing will not be performed, up to 6 passengers can be accommodated.
Q: What should I bring on the charter?
A: We provide everything you need to fish including bait, tackle, fishing license, and fish cleaning. Dress according to the weather and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock and any food and drinks for the trip. You should wear comfortable shoes with a good gripping sole. Please no hard shoes or boots. Don’t forget your camera or phone to capture photos of your experience.
Q: Is there a way to check the weather?
wunderground.com shows the marine weather for our area, you can also look at real time data from our sea bouy weather station. The sea buoy is about 40 nautical miles east, northeast of St. Augustine, FL.
Q: Can I bring a cooler on the boat?
A: Due to room on the boat, the Captain will supply a 48 quart cooler with ice for food and drinks. Please leave your cooler in your vehicle and do NOT bring any glass containers.
Q: Can I bring my own fishing gear?
A: The captain has rods, reels and tackle required for the type fishing you will be doing, however, if you have a favorite fishing rod or a small tackle bag that you prefer, you are welcome to bring it along.
Q: Do I need fishing experience?
No, of course not! We have all the experience you need for a great trip. We love teaching others about fishing and coaching you through it all. We have many people who have never fished a day in their life but leave with a new understanding and an unforgettable experience.
Q: Does the boat have a bathroom?
A: Due to the size of the boat, space is limited. However, there is a console that has a portable head (toilet) that offers privacy in case the need arises.
Q: Can I keep the fish I catch?
A: All fishing is performed in accordance with the laws and rules of the state of Florida, including Federal limits. If the fish you catch are legal to keep, then yes you can certainly keep them. The Captain will also clean and prepare it for you to bring home.
Q: Are all fish we catch edible?
Some of the fish you are likely to catch are edible, and yours to keep. Generally, if the fish is not edible, we will release it, or use it for bait.

You can catch fish any time of the year in St Augustine, FL, however some fish are caught more frequently during certain months and peak seasons. Please check out this moon chart. The most important thing to remember about fishing by the moon is that periods of a full or new moon tend to be the best, provided that the weather and water conditions are stable.
